Identifying potential adaptive SNPs within combined DNA sequences in Genus Crocus L. (Iridaceae family): A multiple analytical approach

چکیده

The genus Crocus L. of Iridaceae family contains about 160 species and is considered as a complex group plant taxa with regard to evolutionary phylogenetic events. Inter-specific hybridization gene flow contribute genetic homogeneity in one hand high within variability content overlaps caused resolution problem. In spite extensive molecular studies this genus, nothing known DNA sequences or Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) which are adaptive nature. Moreover, geographical environmental factors plays role local adaptation speciation events genus. Therefore, the present study was conducted answer above said questions. We used combined data set internal transcribed spacer (ITS) nuclear trnL-F intergenic (trnL-F) chloroplast genome. A multiple analytical method Canonical correlation (CCA), Redundency analysis (RDA), Latent Factor Mixed Model (LFMM)identified few potential SNPs. population criterions like Tajimas’ D, clock test, well skyline-plot revealed smooth continuous changes for most species, but occurrence sudden deep substitution Iran. impact latitude significantly higher on compared that longitudinal distribution species.

Repetitive DNA sequences in Crocus vernus Hill (Iridaceae): the genomic organization and distribution of dispersed elements in the genus Crocus and its allies.

Eight clones of repetitive DNA were isolated from Crocus vernus Hill. The genomic organization of the clones was analyzed by in situ hybridization to C. vernus and Southern hybridization to a range of Crocus and other species. Seven clones were used for in situ hybridization. Sequence analysis showed that all eight clones were nonhomologous, and thus represented eight different sequence-familie...

Pollen Morphology of Some Turkish Crocus L. (iridaceae) Species

The genus Crocus L. (Iridaceae) comprises about 80 species distributed mainly in the Mediterranean region. It is widely dispersed in Turkey; at present about 67 taxa (including subspecies and varieties) are recognized there (Mathew, 1984, 1988, 1995, 2000; Kerndorff and Pasche, 2003, 2004). The Turkish Crocus species have received attention by several workers, who have concentrated mainly on mo...

Identifying potential tRNA genes in genomic DNA sequences.

We have developed an algorithm that automatically and reproducibly identifies potential tRNA genes in genomic DNA sequences, and we present a general strategy for testing the sensitivity of such algorithms. This algorithm is useful for the flagging and characterization of long genomic sequences that have not been experimentally analyzed for identification of functional regions, and for the scan...

Analysis of mitochondrial DNA sequences of Turcinoemacheilus genus (Nemacheilidae Cypriniformes) in Iran

Members of Nemacheilidae Family, Turcinoemacheilus genus were subjected to molecular phylogenetic analysis in this study. This genus was reported in 2009 to inhabit in Karoon River drainage, in contrary to previous assumption that it was the endemic species in the Basin of Tigris River. It was sampled from three stations placed in different tributaries in Karoon drainage and evaluated to unders...

AFLP and MS-AFLP Analysis of the Variation within Saffron Crocus (Crocus sativus L.) Germplasm

The presence and extent of genetic variation in saffron crocus are still debated, as testified by several contradictory articles providing contrasting results about the monomorphism or less of the species. Remarkably, phenotypic variations have been frequently observed in the field, such variations are usually unstable and can change from one growing season to another. Considering that gene exp...
